Is it possible to load/use a proportional font that isn't in !Fonts - by the look of the PRM's, it doesn't seem possible unfortunately.

Trouble is I dont really want it to be installed - just loaded & used - what Windows would call a temporary font as its just available for the program (and only whilst it's running).

Technically it could be installed and then removed at the end though...

Yes, that's how fonts work. Think of it like any other system resource you need to claim and free afterwards, like RMA.
