The ARM Club take over ArcFS

Posted by Andrew Poole on 13:23, 8/5/2003 | , ,

The ARM ClubAs posted to the newsgroups, The ARM Club have taken over the distribution of the ArcFS archiving software. Tom Hughes of The ARM Club tells us that the latest version of ArcFS will be available at the Wakefield show this Saturday and is 26 and 32 bit compatible.

As always, there is a read-only version, which is available free of charge to download from The ARM Club's website. As for the full version, it can be purchased online using credit and debit cards from the same website.

Whats more, if you present your original ArcFS 2 disc at the Wakefield show along with £5, you can upgrade an older version to the nice new version. If you don't have a copy to upgrade, you can buy the full version for £10. The ARM Club's members get 10% discount, meaning the upgrade will then cost £4.50 and the full version £9.

Yay, I noticed the old site vanished a few months ago, good to see it found a new home, and with an extra 6 bits.

So poor !ArcFS has been doomed to possibly the dullest grey page ever. Not even a pretty icon beside the download link.

Still, better that than it disappear from the web. Thanks ARM Club!

Now to add ArcFS to my RedSquirrel install!

To be honest, the Arm Club's entire site is dull, unattractive and pretty crap looking. Even back a dozen years when I had less HTML knowledge (never mind CSS and other web technologies), I could have knocked something together in HTML 3.01 that was bright and cheerful and friendly. You don't need graphics but you do need design. This is just... dull.
