The Icon Bar: News and features: Production Omega Photos

Production Omega Photos

Posted by Andrew Poole on 11:14, 10/3/2003 | , ,

Julian Zimmerle has just Emailed The Icon Bar to let us know that he has updated his website with some new photos of the production omega motherboards.

The photos include a look at the motherboard, which bears the words "Designed and Manufactured in the UK", both inside and outside the Omega case, and a shot of the screen showing some information about the PCI cards installed in his machine.

Also on the page are four MPEG movies, two of which show a PCI test card in the Omega's PCI slots, and the other two showing their local user group meeting when Julian took his Omega with him.

So why has Mr.Zimmerle got access to Omega motherboards? Who is he and why haven't Microdigital let us know about them?

Even better, I suppose, if you were there. I'm not sure that there's anyone in the world called "u", though I may be wrong.

I still don't know who 'Jules' is but I assume he was somebody who tested the Omega prototypes at Wakefield at some point.

Pity it all happened so late that the company I'd put the deposit with had gone bust - so I can't afford the machine any more :-/
