Posted by Andrew Poole on 12:46, 10/11/2003 | , ,

Iyonix Christmas FlyerCastle Technology, makers of the Iyonix have been busy posting flyers round to people to advertise their offers for buyers of an Iyonix over the festive season. Until 28 February 2004, Castle are offering a free Ilyama FST 19" monitor with every Iyonix bought. As an added bonus, all orders placed before 12 December 2003 will include a free memory card reader too.

Also on the flyer are a few printer offers. Take a look at the full flyer for yourself for more information.

Sounds like Castle have their marketing/PR hat on. I'm just waiting for the "1st anniversary" second free iyonix prize draw. Either that or a faster iyonix :)

In an act of treason I was looking at that scan with Mozilla Firebird on a Linux box - and the computer totally locked up! Subliminal advertising? ;)

I don't know why I downloaded it at all really, because I've got a paper version infront of me...

Unregistered user The seem to have nicked postal details for Drobe users, because I got one in the post (I live in New Zealand) - I wonder if they deliver for free ;-)

I also wonder if they will extend the offer until the 29th of February 2004 for no other reason than it's my birthday...

Did you fill in your bits for the competition when the Iyonix launched last year?

I'm still amazed that a RISC OS company is doing anything so radical as advertising. What do they thnk it is, Christmas?!

Unregistered user Yes, I think I might have filled that in...my memory isn't what is used to be :-)

This isn't the first time I've recieved mail about a RISC OS product. VirtualAcorn sent me a rather nice flyer when they launched VirtualA5000. Still it was about the last thing I was expecting to see in my mailbox.

Mine arrived about a month ago, but it came along with one of those very narrow wide brochures and it had the address label on the shrink wrapping not on the actual flyer.

The one in the scanning above, which the sent to me, wasn't in a shrink wrap, just as an A4 piece of glossy paper, folded in half with the address label where you see it on the scan.

I got one of those brochures the first time (nearly a year ago now), and this flyer came like Andy's did.

Now here's the important question: has it persuaded you to buy from Castle???

I think it would be better if there was a brand like Acorn on there which they could use. This could give a sense of continuity, unity, independence etc as well as the loyalty issue.

The printer looks interesting; does anyone know which model is it, exactly?

Looking at http://www.konicaminoltaprinters.co.uk/upload/printer.htm I'd guess it was the 2350?

For German readers; the 2300W is on offer in the Metro for about 550 Euro this week (but presumably useless without a Windows PC).
